A small workshop in Colchester that makes pergolas.

We cut, notch and finish every pergola ourselves, then deliver it or put it up for you. We publish our prices because you should know what something costs before you ask.

Weathered oak posts and beams over a gravel path, climbers coming into leaf along the top and spring borders either side.

Pergolas, and nothing else.

East Anglian Pergolas is a timber workshop in Colchester. We make one thing: pergolas. Kits in softwood or oak in two sizes, and frames made to measure for gardens that need something different.

Because we make every frame ourselves, we can tell you what it costs before you ask. Kit prices are on the site, and the configurator works out delivery to your postcode.

From the timber stack to your garden.

Every pergola goes through the same four stages on our bench, whether it's a 3 × 3 m kit or a frame made to measure.

Sawn oak boards stacked in a timber yard to dry, sticks between each layer.
  1. Stacked to settle

Softwood and oak are stacked under cover with sticks between the boards, so air gets round them before anything is cut.

  2. Cut and notched

Posts, beams and rafters are cut to length and the joints notched, so the frame locks together square on site.

  3. Numbered to the drawing

Each piece is numbered against your drawing, so a kit goes up in the right order and a made-to-measure frame fits the sizes we took.

  4. Delivered, or put up by us

It arrives bundled and labelled with the drawings, or we set the posts and raise the frame ourselves.

What you can expect from us.

Four things we hold ourselves to on every job, kit or made to measure.

  1. Prices up front

Kit prices are on the site, plus VAT. Made-to-measure work gets a fixed price in writing before we start.

  2. A call before we cut

We ring to check the sizes and what the posts are going into before anything is cut.

  3. Tidy on site

We set the posts, raise the frame and take the offcuts away with us.

  4. Still here after

If something isn't right, ring us and we'll come back to sort it.
